She had been living in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and traveled to the Gaza Strip in early August for a surprise visit to her family in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip. Unbeknownst to her, it would be her last visit. She died alongside her infant son, her father, mother, brother, two sisters, and several guests during the Israeli bombing of her family’s home on the eighteenth day of the war on Gaza. She held a BA in Arabic Language, Journalism, and Media from the Islamic University of Gaza. She had left her homeland as a bride, having married Dr. Alaa Abu Shawer three years prior, on November 3. She gave birth to her firstborn, Ali, on October 30, 2022, but tragically, she never had the chance to celebrate his first birthday.
